Lately at work I’ve been talking to our resident Social Media Expert. I was asking him about how to increase my presence on Twitter. Per our conversations, it turns out that I’ve been doing it all wrong. He tells me that I need to “eat, sleep, and breathe Twitter”. Up until now, I’ve been treading fairly lightly, the bulk of my tweets posted are to try and creep out R&B Soul singer, JoJo. I don’t think she’s ever going to respond, though. (Check out the latest if you search #jojotweet!)
When I was on the job hunt, the last 4 places I interviewed for asked for my Twitter and Facebook URLs. This is definitely a sign of how times have shifted in favor of Social Media, especially if you’re in the design/media/marketing field. So today I started my descent into Twitter madness.
I found myself responding to literally everything and tweeting about whatever philosophic thought came to my head (which is not much, mind you). After tweeting for a good portion of the day, I noticed that Jace Hall posted a blog link, so I decided to respond to it. This is how it all went down:
What?! Jace Hall responded to one of my tweets?
I don’t know if this is a common thing on Twitter, but this was pretty exciting for me. I didn’t know what else to do but share my enthusiasm with my friends:
So I’m pretty sure that whoever is reading this now COULD possibly be like: Who the hell is Jace Hall? Since I’m too lazy to write something up, I stole an excerpt from his Wiki:
Jason “Jace” Hall is an American film, television and video game producer, best known for being founder and Chief Executive Officer of Monolith Productions Inc and President of HDFILMS, INC.. He is also the star, producer, and writer of the reality webseries, The Jace Hall Show as well as the current Executive Producer of The Morning After on Hulu and previously on ABC’s new “V” Television series.
I’d say this is roughly the equivalent of a kid on a highschool basketball team engaging in a word exchange with Michael Jordan. Okay, maybe more like…Charles Barkley. It’s still pretty damn cool, I think.
